lock down 2 Shamu Kenya
Another heavy lockdown in Kenya .
By sowing more vegetables we create more food and income for the people in Rural Shamu.
By renting extra land we can keep more people employed and learn how to create an income with a piece of land.
Many have some land at their disposal but no idea how to make something of it.
We help them with that and teach them how to plough, sow and feed the soil. Half of the harvest is shared, the other half stays with us to help children go back to school and for seeds and other things we need on the land.
Because of the covid it has also been difficult for us to let people learn on the land because it was difficult to keep a distance and not many people were allowed on the land.
With more land we can do a little more and that is possible because of all the good help from our sponsors.
We hope that next year everything can work a bit normal again and we can start building a learning center so we can teach many more things to the people.
